Carer Gateway serves as a vital bridge, connecting carers with essential support providers. This Australian Government initiative offers emotional and practical services to support the unsung heroes of caregiving.

What is Carer Gateway?

Carer Gateway, an Australian Government program, provides free services and support for carers. Collaborating with a range of health and carer organizations nationwide, known as Carer Gateway service providers, they ensure that carers receive assistance, regardless of their location in Australia.

What Services and Support are Available?

  • In-person peer support groups and online community forum.
  • Tailored support packages: Access assistance for planned respite, transport services, and more.
  • Free in-person and phone counselling.
  • In-person and online self-guided coaching.
  • Online skills courses: Enhance your well-being and understanding of legal responsibilities related to the caregiving role.
  • Access to emergency respite: When you unexpectedly can’t provide care, such as due to illness or injury.
  • Tips and information: Guidance for your caregiving role and information about other government supports.
