Telehealth – Peer Support

Peer & Family Support Telehealth

Online support through lived experience

Continue your peer support at home

Following the decision made by the spinal units to reduce one on one contact, the Peer & Family Support team is now offering their service online through Telehealth, to help you stay connected during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our staff have lived experience and can help you learn how to manage your injury including advice on bowel and bladder, pressure injuries, staying connected, exercise and so much more! They are even up for just a chat!

You can connect online via video using Telehealth, and speak to one of our team in the comfort and safety of your own home.

This is a free service where our Peer & Family Support team conduct confidential chats with yourself, or as a family group session. To register or connect with the team, simply click HERE to visit the Telehealth portal. They are online from 12pm-4pm from Monday to Thursday AEST.

What’s involved with a Peer & Family Support Telehealth session?

The Peer & Family Support Telehealth sessions are there to keep you connected with the team and can involve either an individual chat, or with your family.

All discussions take place in the safety and comfort of your home and are between you and your Peer & Family Support coordinator.

We will still maintain that lived-experience support, offering you guidance and advice and just being someone to talk to during these difficult times, especially whilst self-isolating.

Some topics we might discuss could be:

  • Tips and tricks whilst in isolation
  • Feeling supported and connected
  • Simple ways to keep active
  • Help you practice everyday living skills
  • Benefits of Telehealth

It’s a great way to continue to communicate and stay connected with the Peer & Family Support team, to receive that vital and compassionate lived experience and support.

Peer & Family Support Telehealth sessions will ensure you are:

  • Remaining connected, motivated and supported during the self-isolation
  • Reducing the effects of self-isolation
  • Continuing engagement with your usual Peer & Family Support coordinator through this difficult time surrounding COVID-19.
  • How do I get started?

To register or logon to Telehealth simply click HERE to speak to a coordinator from Monday – Thursday between 12pm – 4pm AEST.
