It started as a search for cutting-edge SCI rehab possibilities, but before long a newly-injury 17 year old gymnast and her family had traveled thousands of miles and visited dozens of rehab and research centers. Then came the six figure financial commitment, years of dedicated daily exercise, and finally, a hint of motor function returning. It was a beginning and no one knew where it would lead. This is one person’s quest to regain function – today she is a walking paraplegic.
