SCIA has partnered with the Physical Disability Council of NSW (PDCN) and released a joint briefing paper and position statement highlighting the significant concerns we have in accessing WATs, utilisation of the TTSS smartcard, and calling on the government to make changes to improve taxi service provision for all people with disability.
SCIA met with the Disability Council of NSW on May 1, 2023, to raise the ongoing issues affecting wheelchair accessible taxis. The council will take this issue up with the NSW government in its role as official advisor.
We have also secured meetings with Ms Jo Haylen, the new Minister for Transport and the Point to Point Commission to advocate for changes in June 2023.
