PhD Scholarship Opportunity: Advancing Exercise Medicine for Neurological Disorders Research

Spinal Cord Injuries Australia (SCIA) and Edith Cowan University (ECU) have been collaborating in research and clinical services for more than 10 years. To expand depth and breadth of this important work to enhance the health of people with neurological disorders we are offering a PhD Scholarship to an outstanding candidate.

We are calling for applications to be considered for Research Scholarships valued at $33,000 AUD per annum to undertake a PhD at Edith Cowan University in partnership with Spinal Cord Injuries Australia in the realm of exercise medicine and neurological disorders. The scholarship also includes a full tuition sponsorship.

Our research team at the Exercise Medicine Research Institute at Edith Cowan University wish to contact any high-quality candidates interested in pursuing a PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) embedded within our NeuroMoves clinic, a partnership with Spinal Cord Injuries Australia. The project will be determined in consultation with the supervision team, Spinal Cord Injuries Australia, and the successful candidate but within the following the broad area:

Evaluation of a clinic-based, resistance and cardiorespiratory exercise program for people with neurological disorders to assess health benefits with emphasis on cardiovascular, metabolic, skeletal, and neuromuscular outcomes.

You will be based at our NeuroMoves Clinic and Exercise Medicine Research Institute at Edith Cowan University in Perth, Western Australia supervised by leaders in the field of exercise medicine and neuroscience.
