Mike Morris Quest 79

Mike is aiming to cycle 254km this Saturday 22 August to support Spinal Cord Injuries Australia (SCIA).

This is by far the longest distance he’s cycled in a day, and paradoxically he’s going nowhere as he’s doing it all at home on a trainer due to COVID!

Mike’s brother-in-law Tom and niece 11 year old Chloe (who has Cerebral Palsy) are riding 79 miles from Bristol to Newbury (UK) on 22 August and he wanted to support their efforts. Originally the plan was for Mike to go to the UK and do the ride with them but as he now can’t he is going to double their distance, so 2 x 79 miles = 254km in day!

Alongside Tom and Chloe, Mike has been inspired by British Paralympian Karen Darke and her incredible ‘Quest 79’ initiative, culminating in the creation of the ‘Pole of Possibility’ (see https://pop.karendarke.com/). This is an Antarctic Expedition designed to show that ordinary people can do extraordinary things.
