Your guide to health

Health, wellbeing and daily life

Taking care of yourself when you have a spinal cord injury (SCI) is important, and learning to listen to your body is vital. This can help you control small health issues before they become more significant health issues, and will give you greater confidence as you adjust to the way your body now works. For people who’ve sustained an SCI there is a loss of functional control, and while this may be true for how your body works, there are areas you can continue to control.
There is no magic formula for keeping health and well and everyone is different so we recommend speaking to your health team before changing your diet, starting an exercise program or making a major lifestyle decision.

In this section of our website we have put together some useful information and resources to help you with the everyday life issues.
