Following the announcement of the lock down today, in all of Greater Sydney, Wollongong, Blue Mountains and Central Coast, SCIA would like to announce that all of our sites will be closed for face to face meetings from Monday, 28 June until midnight Friday, 9 July 2021.

The safety and wellbeing of our clients and staff is of highest priority, and we will therefore continue to provide our services either via telephone, Telehealth or virtual online meetings.

We will continue to monitor the status of this current lock down and plan accordingly.

NeuroMoves

All NeuroMoves centres in Sydney will be closed for face to face sessions from Monday 28th June until Friday 9th July 2021.

“In light of new COVID restrictions across Australia, please see the latest changes for your NeuroMoves site:
Sydney – All Sydney sites (Clyde, Liverpool, Menai, Penrith and St Peters) will be running sessions via telehealth only until Friday the 9th of July. Please contact your NeuroMoves team leader if you would like further information.
Lismore – remains open and sessions are running as scheduled, however face masks will be mandatory for you and your carers when attending your session. Please note, you must not remove your face mask for your entire session unless you have a medical reason to do so.
Canberra and Perth – Gym’s remain open and sessions are running as scheduled, however face masks will be mandatory for you and your carers when attending your session. Please note, you are permitted to remove your face mask during your workout only.
Melbourne – remains open and sessions are running as scheduled. Face masks will remain mandatory for you and your carers when attending your session. Please note, you are permitted to remove your face mask during your workout only.
Adelaide – remains open and sessions are running as scheduled. No face masks required, however we have these available should anyone wish to wear them.

If you have recently travelled to Greater Sydney, Central Coast, Blue Mountains, Wollongong and Shellharbour regions of NSW, please contact your NeuroMoves team leader prior to attending your session.

We will continue to provide all sites with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which can be worn at your request for each session. We will also continue to maintain our high standard of cleaning before and after every client session.

We will be sure to update you on any further changes, and we appreciate your understanding for any disruptions to your sessions.

During this period, we will once again be offering our specialized Telehealth service to all clients.

Community Services

Our NDIS Support Coordinators and Plan Managers based in Sydney will be operating via phone and email.

We will work with clients to connect with essential supports, service providers and health professionals to maintain continuity of service.

Policy and Advocacy

Our Policy and Advocacy team based in Sydney will be operating via phone and email. 

We are still here for those who need support and guidance for individual, systemic and self advocacy matters such as long and short term advocacy strategy, lobbying government bodies and providing you with the right advice and information.

Peer and Family Support

Our Peer and Family Support Team will be working from home and offering their non-clinical advice and practical help for people with a spinal cord injury via our free Telehealth service.

It is really important to stay in touch with those in your community. Our Telehealth service offers the ideal opportunity to keep in touch with our Peer & Family Support team for much needed advice and support. They empower our clients with advice and information about topics such as day-to-day activities, and bowel/bladder health.

Employment

Our Employment Service will be operating via phone and email, to continue to support your journey toward work.

Occasional and Emergency Service

Our Occasional and Emergency Service are our front-line staff and are an essential service during this time.

We have implemented additional precautions including checking the temperature of our staff at the start of each shift to monitor their health, provide our O&EC staff with additional PPE kits which include face masks, gloves and scrubs and we have increased the frequency of our general hygiene measures to ensure that we continue to operate in a safe way.
