One of Australia’s famous hotspots is now wheelchair accessible.
Thanks to the tireless work of Waverley Council, Access Bondi means that Bondi Beach is now accessible for people who are less mobile, use a wheelchair or a mobility aid.
The ramp is located at North Bondi, near North Bondi Lifesaving Club and Wally Weekes Pool.
As well as an accessible ramp, Waverley Council also provides the following facilities:
• Beach matting Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday from 8:30am – 2:30pm, depending on surf conditions.
• Kids and adults beach wheelchairs that can be accessed at anytime from temporary lockers located across from the accessible ramp. Bookings can be up to four hours at a time. This will allow people to travel across the sand and up to the water’s edge.
Bookings can be made by calling (02) 9083 8400.
• Wheelchair accessible outdoor shower is located near the North Bondi toilets on the Promenade.
