Feeling confident about your wheel stand skills? Let’s start doing gutter charges!

Gutter charges in a manual wheelchair take time and practice. To perfect this skill, you will need to consider speed, strength and momentum.

    In this video Jason discusses:

    1. Practicing in a safe area and picking up enough speed to get up the gutter
    2. Practice first on a rounded off gutter
    3. Keep strong wheeling up the gutter and lift yourself up to help with momentum

Want more support with your wheelchair? Our Peer & Family Support team are made up of people with lived experience of varying spinal cord injuries that offer practical, non-clinical advice and mentoring. We operate in New South Wales and Western Australia in the spinal units and in the community.
