CONTINENCE AND SCI WITH EDWINA SPOONER FROM COLOPLAST

    When: Monday 8 May, 2023
    Time: 2:00pm
    Where: Online (Microsoft Teams)
    Why is it important?
After a spinal cord injury, there are many parts of your body that might function differently. Your bladder and bowel are two of the organs in your body that are most often affected. It can have a significant impact on your physical and mental health.

Talking about bladder and bowel issues can be difficult for a lot of people, going to the toilet is an inherently private matter for most people. However, we think that this important issue should be discussed openly and honestly.

SEXUALITY AND SCI WITH CANDICE CARE-UNGER FROM CARE REHAB

    When: Monday 22 May, 2023
    Time: 2:00pm
    Where: Online (Microsoft Teams)
    Why is it important?
Sexuality is often a taboo topic. Having an SCI can fundamentally change your sexual function.

The combination of changes and a reluctance to talk about it leaves people feeling confused and can have long lasting impacts on a persons relationships and mental health. This education session will show you everything there is to know about sexuality and SCI, and have the opportunity to ask any questions you’ve got in a judgement free place.
