More Advocacy Community Networks are coming to you!

    • Hayley Dean

We are expanding our Advocacy Community Networks (ACN) meet and greet community catch ups into Bathurst, Lithgow, Orange and the Northern Rivers over the coming months, as we continue to grow our established (and successful) groups in Canberra, Port Macquarie, Moree, Blue Mountains, South Eastern Sydney and Parramatta.

ACNs are designed for people living with spinal cord injury and neurological conditions, their carers and family members.

If you are keen to connect, build friendships, share information and knowledge, foster self- advocacy skills, and talk about and address issues that matter to you check out the ACN events near you on our Events page.

Our sessions are peer-led and raise the voices of people with disability.

Your feedback means that SCIA can prioritise our advocacy work to better serve the SCI and neuro communities.

In Orange, Bathurst, Blue Mountains and Lithgow we are trailing peer support and advocacy combined – half of the meeting will be peer support led and the other advocacy. It will evolve as we shape it together.

Come join Eileen Guy in Tweed Heads, Rex Cochrane in Bathurst and Orange, and Kay Hudson in the Blue Mountains and Lithgow, at one of our Network meet ups to make a difference in your local community.

For more information contact Gordana on (02) 7254 2865 or email her at representative@scia.org.au
