Our Individual Advocate Dee, supported a client with her first NDIS planning meeting who has Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS).

Please note: All of our Individual and NDIS Appeals client stories have been de-identified for privacy reasons.

Empowering individuals who have a disability, as well as their families, to gain knowledge about the complexities of something like the NDIS is an important aspect to learn and our team are passionate about supporting you to understand the intricacies.

The client we supported had identified that mobility, fatigue, severe pain and temperature sensitivity were her biggest barriers and it had significantly reduced the client’s ability to manage basic tasks, which had eroded her confidence and independence.

Her goal was to ensure her plan is adequately funded so she can rebuild her capacity and develop new strategies to re-engage with her community. Armed with this knowledge, our Advocate began guiding her through the basics on how the NDIS works, including the processes as an applicant and eventually a participant. This resulted in an extremely positive outcome for our client. She wrote to Dee expressing her thanks by writing, “I really appreciated your calm, practical approach — it made a big difference while I was navigating everything.”
