Peer & Family Support
We aim to assist you with living with a spinal cord injury in Canberra and the surrounding regions. No matter whether it is wheelchair skills, assistance with where to turn for other services, advice on assistive technology, health-related issues (from a non-clinical, lived experience point of view), or just a general chat about life with a spinal cord injury.
We also hold social events throughout the year so you can meet with other people in a similar situation.
If you’d like to get in touch with a member of our friendly team, all you need to do is fill out the Peer Support Referral Form or find out more about our Peer & Family Support services.

Spinal Cord Injuries Australia (SCIA) acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of this land where the First Nation Peoples have long engaged in ceremonies of storytelling, music, dance, and celebration. We pay respect to the Elders, past and present, and recognise those of the future, who will carry the memories, traditions, and aspirations of First Nation Peoples. It is crucial to remember that beneath the concrete and asphalt, this land always has been and always will be traditional First Nation Peoples’ Land. We acknowledge the contributions of both First Nation Peoples and non-First Nation Australians towards building and advancing a sustainable future, promoting health, reducing inequalities, and achieving better social outcomes.
