Community Peer Support starts in Alstonville, NSW

We’re delighted to say that we’ve started our Community Peer Support get togethers in Alstonville, New South Wales.

SCIA, in partnership with the Physical Disability Council of NSW (PDCN) has formed a community group that offers an encouraging environment to share stories, make new friends and learn from others in a similar situation in a place that is safe, and free from judgement.

We will be inviting speakers to talk about topics such as:

  • Self-advocacy and speaking up for yourself
  • Resilience
  • Enhancing independence
  • Relationships
  • Adapting to change
  • Practical living skills
  • Travel accessibility
  • Overcoming barriers
  • Activities and accessing your community
