Building Connections in the Illawarra & Shoalhaven: SCIA’s Peer and Family Support Program

Living with a spinal cord injury can be an isolating experience, but it doesn’t have to be. At Spinal Cord Injuries Australia, we believe in the power of community, connection, and lived experience. That’s why our Peer and Family Support Program in the Illawarra and Shoalhaven regions is designed to bring people together in meaningful ways.

Whether you’re newly injured or have been living with a spinal cord injury for years, our program offers a welcoming space to connect with others who truly understand your journey. Through regular social outings, like bowling nights, BBQs, and coffee catchups, we create opportunities for people with spinal cord injuries to build friendships, share experiences, and support one another.
