Online Inclusion Training
Spinal Cord Injuries Australia (SCIA) and Accessible Accommodation have come together to create a training course to help accommodation providers feel confident welcoming guests with accessibility needs.
The training is informed by real-life experience, designed through conversations with our community and focussed on what you can do now, for little or no cost.
We provide a step-by-step guide, share stories, videos and examples of what’s needed to welcome people with accessibility needs.
Why should accessibility be a priority for you:
In the training we share with you some eye-opening facts to highlight why having accessible accommodation is good for business.
Here are a few:
- Fastest growing travel sector in the country.
- People with a disability account for 17% of the total tourism revenue in Australia that’s $3.3 billion!
- 91% of our community stated that accommodation and accessible travel is a priority.
- The NDIS funds up to 28 days of accommodation.
- 38% book additional non-accessible rooms for carers and support workers.
- Retirees make up ¼ of the Australian population and seek out accessible features.
