Independent Living Specialists partnership with SCIA
We are excited to announce that SCIA has now formed a new long term partnership with Independent Living Specialists (ILS). ILS is one of Australia’s largest providers of homecare equipment and a leading provider of mobility and seating equipment, specialising in scripted power and manual wheelchairs.
In partnership with ILS, we will be launching a series of clinics in regional NSW where clients can come and trial the latest in homecare and mobility equipment where they can be properly assessed by an occupational therapist. These will be rolled out from March onwards in Ballina, Port Macquarie, Bathurst and Tamworth. Initial dates are:
- Ballina: 23 March, 11 April and 16 May 2017
- Tamworth: 19 April and 23 May 2017
- Port Macquarie: 20 April and 25 May 2017
- Bathurst: 18 May 2017
These regional clinics will be operating on a monthly basis at these locations and you will be able to book a free appointment to see an occupational therapist through the ILS website www.ilsau.com.au/scia. (username and password required – contact SCIA)
At SCIA we want to ensure everyone has access to the information and services that they need to make an informed decision on what works best for them. We know that people living in regional areas can struggle to access the services that they require and we are thrilled to be able to offer these clinics in the regions so more people can physically try out what is available and meet with an occupational therapist for advice and scripting.
Peter Reid, Cofounding Director for ILS says “At ILS we are very excited about our new partnership with SCIA. SCIA share our core values; we both aim to maintain independence and wellbeing for client’s living in the community with a medical condition and/or disability through holistic and client focussed care. This includes occupational therapy services, scripted power and manual mobility aids, pressure relieving devices, respiratory and oxygen therapy and home care equipment. Exclusive access to our range of products and services will be made available to SCIA members”
What’s more, SCIA members will also be able to take advantage of 10% off ILS extensive range of homecare equipment. For any purchase of a power chair SCIA members will receive a complimentary gift which includes, a USB connector, a phone holder and the first years annual service; total value $891! SCIA members will be able to access and purchase products through the SCIA portal on the ILS website at www.ilsau.com.au/scia
