Hey all!
Ever thought about giving wheelchair basketball a try? Training is Saturday mornings at Mt Druitt! Kevin Betts Stadium, which is run by Sydney Metro Blues athlete Josh Meoli, in and out of season, when he is not Jett setting with the NWBL & WNWBL leagues coaching and playing. Facebook is up-to-date with all details in regards to training at Blues Wheelchair Basketball so if you’re interested, let us know!
There is also upcoming local tournament at Sydney Academy of Sport, showcasing regional athletes from around the state! Aptly named “Country Cup”, it is an excellent way to introduce yourself as a spectator to the game! Wheelchair Sports NSW has all the information regarding that also.
I found this article called ‘Ten interesting things you may not know about wheelchair basketball’ for anyone interested in the history of the sport: https://amicohoops.net/ten-interesting-things-you-may-not-know-about-wheelchair-basketball/
