Forum › SCI Research › Keeping up to date with research
Things are hot in the research space right now and it seems like every week there is a new “breakthrough” announced in the media. Let’s keep ourselves informed by posting in this thread information about research – studies, trials, participation – anything to do with research.
To start the ball rolling I came across this interesting article in the latest issue of New Mobility – Big Ideas in Function – where Dr Wise Young talks about challenging the dogmas of SCI Research and the research they are doing or are about to do.
And in Melbourne recently was the annual Australian & New Zealand Spinal Cord Society (ANZSCoS) Conference. One of the speakers there was John Chernesky, Lead of Consumer Engagement at the Rick Hansen Institute in Toronto and has himself an SCI. He challenged the SCI Research & Clinical Communities and people with lived experience to embrace the benefits of partnering in research and service development. You can read more of John’s thoughts on page 14 in the latest issue of SPIRE Newslink.
Hi Shirley,
Great thread and very interesting article.
I came across this article about using carbon nanotube implants to repair spinal cord injuries.
It’s great to see new research being invested to find improved treatments for spinal cord injuries.
Has anybody else come across any interesting research articles?
