Forum › Rural Australia › Farming and SCI
Post-injury, I grew up on a farm for another 6 years and saw that it was a very inaccessible place to be, but not at all impossible. So I was curious as to whether any of our SCI peeps are farmers and how they worked on their properties post injury? I know modifications would be required, depending on the types of farming and such, for heavy machinery, and was interested to see how that played out.
Hi, I’m no longer farming after injury but there is a website/network AgrAbility, there is an Australian and American sites, both good. Sam Bailey and his website is great. I recently finished modifying my compact tractor with a front end loader to enable me to operate it.
Thanks for the info Matt! Thats top stuff! Can you tell me more about how you modified that? Where you got it done? How about navigating gates and fences rather than getting out of the ute/4×4/vehicle for less transfers?
