SCI Australia provides and is involved in many Access services and committees. We continue to provide professional and introductory training courses in access related subjects. See below for details.
As part of the development of Access related information on this site we now also include a list of frequently asked questions to assist you in your access enquiries. The answers to these questions also include some contact information for other organisations and government departments to further assist you.
Former SCI Australia staff member and current preferred supplier, Amelia Starr, under a Churchill Fellowship, has compiled a report on universal housing and the development of sustainable, inclusive communities in Japan, Canada, the United States of America, the United Kingdom and Norway. It also canvasses the implications on policy, legislation and practice in Australia.

Many friends and staff of SCI Australia belong and / or actively participate in their local communities through access related committees. Predominantly these are council based committees. We also actively participate in Australian Standard Committees. The purpose of our involvement is to ensure that the built environment continues to be more accessible for all people.
SCI Australia highly recommends Access Advisory Resource Centre. AARC Australia is run by Amelia Starr—former staff member of SCIA. Amelia is recognised as one of the leading experts in Access with in Australia. She has studied and presented in many countries around the world.
