Make Complacency the Only Casualty

Since its formation in 1967, Spinal Cord Injuries Australia has initiated and delivered a range of programs to support people with spinal cord injury from hospital, through rehabilitation and back to home and work. Teamsafe is one such program.

SCIA’s Teamsafe Ambassadors share their emotional stories with workers around Australia* to help prevent the incidence of injury and fatality in the workplace. Our Ambassadors have seen their lives changed forever by catastrophic injuries and know the devastating effects that injuries can have on an individual, their family and friends, colleagues and employers.

Teamsafe can also help people with a disability to make the transition into new careers as they develop different skills as Teamsafe Ambassadors. The interaction with fellow workers boosts self esteem and increases confidence.

Teamsafe Ambassadors

SCIA’s team of Ambassadors have a range of different experiences to share. Their thought provoking presentations describe how their lives changed forever in the blink of an eye, the physical and emotional effects that followed and life for them today. Our Ambassadors are enthusiastic to share their stories to raise awareness of spinal cord injuries and accidents in the workplace — as one Ambassador said "If I can prevent just one injury by sharing my story then it is all worthwhile".

Teamsafe Presentations

Each Teamsafe presentation lasts for 60 minutes. The impact of our presentations is maximised when delivered to groups of approximately forty people. This group size also encourages discussions between our Ambassadors and your employees. We can deliver up to three presentations at one site. Our Ambassador and accompanying Envoy will visit your training site and we will adapt our delivery of Teamsafe to meet your logistical and operational requirements.
