Employment - SCI Workforce

Are you interested in returning to work?

Do you have questions about the employment options available?

SCI Workforce, part of Spinal Cord Injuries Australia, is an employment service that offers advice, support and assistance as you make your way through the maze of programs and systems available to you.

Employment provides much more in a person’s life than simply money.

  • there are enormous benefits associated with being able to contribute to society and having interaction with others in the workplace
  • employment opportunities are available to everyone, whether they have a disability or not

For people who are coming to terms with the impact of a spinal cord injury, returning to work on a part time or casual basis is a preferred option. Additional time is often required for personal care, transport and general organisational tasks. However, employment is not only a possibility; it is an achievable goal regardless of the level of injury.

Funded by the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR), SCI Workforce helps job seekers by providing services

  • from pre-employment training
  • including job search training and career planning
  • through to post-employment support

Working with both our Employment Consultants and Peer Support Officers, we can offer you the support you need now and throughout your rehabilitation process to set you on your return to work.

The staff at SCI Workforce have many years of experience in the employment service area and are committed to ensuring that all job seekers gain employment.
