About Us

Spinal Cord Injuries Australia is all about promoting independence, and continues today with a proud history of providing consumer based support and rehabilitation services to people with physical disabilities. Our journey began 40 years ago when we were formed as the Australian Quadriplegic Association.

Vision

A society without barriers for people with spinal cord injury.

Mission

Our constant innovation creates independence and unlimited opportunity for people living with spinal cord injury.

Early history

Since being formed as the Australian Quadriplegic Association in September 1967 to provide suitable accommodation for young people with severe spinal cord injuries, Spinal Cord Injuries Australia has expanded its services as the need and opportunity arose. These services have been extended to include all people with severe physical disabilities.
