There are two important inquiries underway in New South Wales—into the taxi industry and the provision of education the students with a disability.
SCI Australia’s Policy and Advocacy team urges you to become involved in this process by making submissions to the inquiries. To assist you the attached zip file contains templates for the inquiries.

The NSW legislative council’s select committee has undertaken an inquiry into the NSW Taxi industry. Of particular note is that there are three areas of the terms of reference that are aimed towards taxi using passengers with a disability and Wheelchair accessible Taxis. Further to these areas there is general ‘other related matters’ that could be used to discuss well grounded issues such as the Taxi Transport Subsidy Scheme.

The NSW Legislative councils standing committee No.2 has undertaken an inquiry into the provision of education to students with a disability or special needs. The terms of reference are broad and should be sufficient for all issues to be raised effectively. You should lodge a submission whether you are a person with a disability who has either been through, applying or presently in the education system. Educators who wish to inform the committee of how service delivery is at the operational level or other interested parties.
